A child must feel secure in order to grow and learn, which is why health and safety is very important to us at Willow Ptarmigan's Nest-Child Development Center. We are uncompromisingly committed to exceptionally safe, nurturing learning environments for all of our children, parents, and staff.

Our commitment to safety is vetted from the inside out. Our center complies with state licensing/regulatory bodies and are held to industry leading operational standards though national accrediting agencies.
About Our Center
​STAFF QUALIFICATIONS

We require background checks for all employees, this includes volunteers.

All Willow Ptarmigan's Nest employees are Infant/Adult CPR and First-Aid certified.

We ensure every employee has access to ongoing training and professional development to further their education in early childhood education.

SECURITY

Only parents and approved caregivers can sign children in and out each day.

Educators supervise children at all times and are trained to immediately respond to any kind of safety incident.

All classrooms adhere to mandated state staff-to-children ratios at all times.

Our employees enforce a strict visitor policy, and every approved guest is escorted by a staff member at all times.

We cover all bases with emergency preparedness including fire drills, severe weather drills, shelter-in-place, evacuation plans, and medical emergency care plans.

COLD, FLU, & COVID-19
At Willow Ptarmigan's Nest-Child Development Center, we constantly stay updated with the latest research on the common cold, influenza, and COVID-19. We carefully adjust our protocols to create a secure and nurturing learning environment for everyone

Is your child feeling sick?
If your child displays signs and symptoms of being sick, it's best to keep them at home!
Early signs and symptoms of the flu and cold in babies include:

Fever: A fever of 100°F or higher

Tiredness: The baby is acting tired, cranky, or unusually sleepy

Coughing: The baby has a constant cough

Runny nose: The baby has a runny or stuffy nose with green discharge.

Decreased feeding: The baby is not feeding well or not having their usual wet diapers

Body aches: The baby displays body aches or general discomfort/fussiness.

Your child is just not behaving like themselves.
Other symptoms of the flu include: Diarrhea and vomiting, Headache, and Chills or body shakes.
Other symptoms of a cold include: wheezing
Our policy states
"If your child becomes ill while at the center, we think it’s better for your child to be home rather than in contact with other children. A parent/guardian will be contacted immediately and the child will be sent home" (Page 29 WPN Parent Handbook)
